Treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH); helps improve urinary flow and symptoms like frequency, urgency, weak stream, and may also help erectile dysfunction associated with BPH.

Alfuzosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker that relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing BPH symptoms. Tadalafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor that increases cGMP leading to smooth muscle relaxation and improved blood flow; it also helps relax urinary tract smooth muscle, improving LUTS.

Tablet to be swallowed whole (do not crush/chew if extended-release). Usually taken once daily at the same time each day, preferably after the same meal. Take only as prescribed by the doctor; avoid taking with other PDE-5 inhibitors or alpha-blockers unless advised.

Headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion, back pain, fatigue, low blood pressure, palpitations

May cause dizziness/fainting due to fall in blood pressure—use caution when standing up, driving, or operating machinery. Avoid use with nitrates (risk of severe hypotension). Use with caution in heart disease, recent stroke/heart attack, severe liver impairment, severe kidney disease, or if prone to priapism. Seek urgent care for chest pain, sudden vision/hearing loss, or erection lasting >4 hours. In BPH, evaluation for prostate cancer may be needed before/while on therapy.

Nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide), riociguat, other alpha-blockers/antihypertensives (additive hypotension), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, clarithromycin), CYP3A4 inducers (rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin), alcohol (increases dizziness/hypotension), grapefruit juice (may increase tadalafil levels)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
