Rosuvastatin 5 mg
Treatment of high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and mixed dyslipidemia; prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in at-risk patients as part of lifestyle modification.
Rosuvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). It reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver, lowers LDL and triglycerides, and modestly increases HDL, thereby reducing atherosclerotic plaque progression and cardiovascular risk.
Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; continue diet and exercise advice. Do not stop without medical advice.

Not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use with caution in liver disease, heavy alcohol use, hypothyroidism, kidney impairment, and in the elderly due to risk of muscle problems (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis). Seek medical help for unexplained muscle pain/weakness, fever, dark urine. Periodic lipid profile and liver function tests may be required.
