What is Targocid 200MG used for?

Treatment of serious Gram-positive bacterial infections such as complicated skin and soft tissue infections

How Targocid 200MG Works

Teicoplanin is a glycopeptide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to D-Ala-D-Ala termini of peptidoglycan precursors. This prevents cross-linking of the cell wall, leading to bacterial death against susceptible Gram-positive organisms.

Dosage & Directions

For IV or IM use only; reconstitute the vial with the recommended diluent and further dilute for IV infusion as per label/hospital protocol. Dose and duration are decided by the physician based on infection type, severity, kidney function and body weight; loading doses are commonly used initially. Administer at the same time each day; do not self-administer.
