Known side effects of TELMITAL CT TAB include dizziness, headache, fatigue, increased urination, low blood pressure, nausea, muscle cramps, low potassium, increased uric acid, increased blood glucose. Not everyone experiences these side effects.

Important Warnings

Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the fetus). Use caution in kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, liver impairment, dehydration/volume depletion, and in elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine), and electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium). May precipitate gout (due to chlorthalidone) and may worsen diabetes control. Risk of symptomatic hypotension especially after first doses or with low salt intake/diuretics.

Drug Interactions

TELMITAL CT TAB may interact with the following:

ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (in diabetes/renal impairment) increases risk of kidney problems and hyperkalemia
potassium supplements/salt substitutes or potassium-sparing diuretics (hyperkalemia)
NSAIDs (reduced antihypertensive effect and kidney risk)
lithium (increased lithium toxicity)
digoxin (electrolyte changes may increase arrhythmia risk)
other antihypertensives (additive hypotension)
corticosteroids or amphotericin B (increased hypokalemia risk)
antidiabetic medicines (may need dose adjustment)
