Telmisartan (40mg) + Chlorthalidone (12.5mg)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-drug therapy is insufficient; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events related to uncontrolled BP
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking AT1 receptors, lowering blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that increases salt and water excretion, reducing blood volume and BP. The combination provides additive BP control.
Oral tablet. Take once daily at the same time each day, preferably in the morning (diuretic effect). Can be taken with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop or change dose without medical advice.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Telmital Ct Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the fetus). Use caution in kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, liver impairment, dehydration/volume depletion, and in elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine), and electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium). May precipitate gout (due to chlorthalidone) and may worsen diabetes control. Risk of symptomatic hypotension especially after first doses or with low salt intake/diuretics.
