Lignocaine (2%w/v)
Local anesthesia for minor surgical/dental procedures, infiltration/field block/nerve block anesthesia, topical anesthesia on mucous membranes (as per clinical use); may also be used by specialists for certain cardiac arrhythmias when IV lidocaine is indicated (strength/form dependent)
Lidocaine is an amide-type local anesthetic that reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve membranes. This prevents initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, producing temporary loss of sensation in the area.
Administer only by a trained healthcare professional. Route and dose depend on the procedure (infiltration/nerve block) and patient factors; use the lowest effective dose. Aspiration before injection is recommended to avoid intravascular administration; monitor vitals during use.

For use under medical supervision only. Do not exceed recommended dose; systemic toxicity can occur with accidental intravascular injection or overdose (CNS excitation/seizures, respiratory depression, cardiac arrhythmias/cardiac arrest). Use with caution in hepatic impairment, elderly, debilitated patients, heart block/bradycardia, severe shock, and patients on antiarrhythmics. Avoid use in known hypersensitivity to amide-type local anesthetics. Resuscitation equipment and monitoring should be available.
