Alfa Ostebon Capsule is often prescribed for the management of calcium and vitamin D deficiencies. Alfacalcidol is a synthetic form of vitamin D, specifically vitamin D3. It plays a crucial role in calcium and phosphorus metabolism. It enhances the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestines, promotes bone mineralization, and helps regulate parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion. Calcium is a mineral that is essential for various physiological functions in the body, including the formation and maintenance of strong bones and teeth, blood clotting, and muscle function. Alfa Ostebon Capsule helps ensure an adequate supply for these essential functions.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alfa Ostebon Capsule may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own. Do not take more than your doctor has advised. Vitamin D builds up in the body and too much raises blood calcium, causing thirst, frequent urination, nausea and confusion. High-dose weekly or monthly sachets are prescription strengths — do not repeat one because you missed a week. Tell your doctor if you have had kidney stones or have kidney disease.

Give your doctor and pharmacist a full list of everything you take. Calcium reduces the absorption of thyroid tablets, several antibiotics and iron — separate them by a few hours. Water tablets of the thiazide group raise calcium further when combined.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
