Treatment of epilepsy/seizures including partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures (as monotherapy or adjunct therapy as prescribed).

Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic that binds to synaptic vesicle protein SV2A in the brain. This helps stabilize neuronal activity and reduces abnormal electrical firing that leads to seizures.

Dispersible tablet: disperse the tablet in a small amount of water and consume immediately (or as directed). Take at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop suddenly; dose and duration are as prescribed by the doctor.

Sleepiness, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, irritability, mood changes

Prescription medicine. May cause drowsiness/dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know its effects. Do not stop abruptly as it may worsen seizures. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Monitor for mood/behavior changes, depression, or suicidal thoughts; seek medical help if these occur. Severe allergic reactions or serious skin reactions are rare but need urgent care.

Alcohol (increased drowsiness), other CNS depressants (sedation), methotrexate (may reduce clearance of methotrexate), probenecid (may increase levels of levetiracetam metabolite).

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
