Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Sitahenz G1 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: sitagliptin and glimepiride. Sitagliptin works by blocking the DPP-4 enzyme (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor) and increasing the secretion of insulin from the pancreas. Glimepiride (sulfonylurea) releases more insulin by stimulating the pancreas. Together these two medicines help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sitahenz G1 Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
