Syrup
Bacterial infections such as ear, nose & throat infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media), lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections.
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta‑lactamase enzymes produced by some bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and extending its spectrum of activity.
Dry syrup for oral use: reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark, shake well. Give the measured dose using the supplied measure, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. Shake well before each dose and complete the full prescribed course.
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, rash, itching, oral/vaginal thrush, headache
Prescription antibiotic—use only if advised by a doctor. Do not use in patients with allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe hypersensitivity reactions. Use with caution in liver disease, kidney disease, infectious mononucleosis (may cause rash). Stop and seek medical help for severe diarrhea, skin rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty. Dose adjustment may be needed in renal impairment.
Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding risk/INR), methotrexate (increased toxicity), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), mycophenolate mofetil (reduced exposure), oral contraceptives (may reduce efficacy—use backup).
Store dry powder at room temperature, protected from moisture and light. After reconstitution, keep tightly closed and refrigerated (2–8°C); do not freeze. Use within 7–10 days or as directed on label.
