Tablet
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; allergy symptoms associated with asthma/allergic airway inflammation
Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching and runny nose. Montelukast blocks leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors, reducing leukotriene-mediated inflammation, nasal congestion and allergy-related wheeze.
Tablet for oral use. Usually taken once daily in the evening or as prescribed; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Sleepiness/drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea
May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed for levocetirizine). Montelukast has been associated with mood/behaviour changes (agitation, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical help if these occur. Not for acute asthma attacks; keep rescue inhaler as advised. Inform doctor about liver disease, history of psychiatric illness, or if symptoms persist.
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), sedating antihistamines, opioids/benzodiazepines (additive sedation); rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital (may reduce montelukast levels); gemfibrozil (may increase montelukast exposure); theophylline (minor interaction)
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
