About fatigue & low energy testing
Persistent fatigue that lasts weeks isn't normal. Before you blame stress or busy schedules, a comprehensive panel rules out the common medical causes. Iron deficiency (with or without anaemia) is the most common — especially in women of reproductive age. Vitamin D deficiency is near-universal in urban Indians and causes muscle weakness and brain fog. B12 deficiency (vegetarian risk) produces nerve tingling, memory issues and fatigue.
Thyroid dysfunction — both hypo- and hyper- — disrupts energy at a fundamental level. Diabetes and pre-diabetes can present with fatigue years before classical thirst/urination symptoms. Even mild kidney or liver dysfunction can produce a vague tired feeling.
A fatigue workup typically includes: CBC + ferritin (anaemia and iron stores), TSH (thyroid), Vitamin D and B12 (deficiencies), fasting blood sugar + HbA1c (glucose), basic LFT and KFT (organ function). For most patients, this panel either identifies the cause or rules out the common ones — letting your clinician investigate further.
