Telmisartan 20 mg
Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension); reduction of cardiovascular risk (heart attack/stroke) in high-risk patients when appropriate.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart.
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablet with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester) due to risk of fetal harm; avoid if history of hypersensitivity to telmisartan. Use with caution in kidney impairment, renal artery stenosis, dehydration/volume depletion, severe liver disease, and in patients prone to hyperkalemia. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. Seek help for severe dizziness/fainting or signs of high potassium (muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat).
