Uses & Benefits
Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to help stop smoking and reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings in tobacco/nicotine dependence
How It Works
Nicotine gum provides a controlled dose of nicotine absorbed through the lining of the mouth. This reduces nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings when you stop smoking, helping you gradually cut down and quit.
Directions for Use
Chew 1 gum slowly until a tingling/peppery taste appears, then park it between cheek and gum; repeat chew–park for about 30 minutes. Use when you feel the urge to smoke; avoid eating or drinking (especially tea/coffee/soft drinks/acidic juices) for 15 minutes before and during use. Typical max is about 24 pieces/day; taper use gradually as cravings reduce. Not for continuous chewing like regular gum.
For adults and adolescents as advised; do not use if you are a non-smoker. Use with caution and consult a doctor if you have recent heart attack, unstable angina, serious arrhythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, severe liver/kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, or active peptic ulcer. Do not swallow the gum; excessive chewing may increase side effects. Keep out of reach of children and pets—nicotine can be dangerous if ingested. Stop use and seek medical help if severe allergic reaction or symptoms of nicotine overdose occur (nausea, vomiting, sweating, weakness, fast/irregular heartbeat).

Drug Interactions
Smoking cessation (with or without NRT) can alter levels/effects of CYP1A2 substrates such as theophylline, clozapine, olanzapine, ropinirole and caffeine (may need dose adjustment). Concurrent use with other nicotine products (patch/lozenge/e-cigarettes) may increase risk of nicotine excess unless supervised. Acidic beverages reduce buccal absorption if taken around dosing.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from heat and moisture. Keep in original pack and keep out of reach of children.
