Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II effects, lowering blood pressure. Take as directed by the physician, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

May cause dizziness—avoid driving until you know its effects. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and potassium periodically, especially in elderly, dehydrated patients, or those with kidney disease. Use caution in patients with severe liver impairment; amlodipine may worsen edema. Not recommended in pregnancy; stop and consult doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Risk of hypotension in volume/salt-depleted patients. Seek urgent care for face/lip swelling or breathing difficulty (angioedema).
Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (risk of hyperkalemia), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect and affect kidneys), lithium (increased lithium levels/toxicity), other antihypertensives/diuretics (additive hypotension), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (higher risk of kidney issues/hyperkalemia; avoid in diabetes with aliskiren), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers affecting amlodipine (e.g., clarithromycin, azoles, rifampicin), grapefruit juice (may increase amlodipine effect in some patients)
