Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-drug therapy is inadequate; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events associated with uncontrolled BP.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that reduces calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation and further BP reduction.

Take by mouth as directed by the physician, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

May cause dizziness/low BP especially after first dose—use caution when driving. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and potassium, particularly in elderly, dehydrated patients or those with kidney disease. Risk of hyperkalemia with ARBs; avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. Use caution in liver impairment (amlodipine) and in heart failure/aortic stenosis. Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid in breastfeeding unless advised by doctor.

Potassium supplements/salt substitutes, potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone), other antihypertensives/diuretics (additive hypotension), NSAIDs (reduced effect/renal risk), lithium (increased levels/toxicity), aliskiren (avoid especially in diabetes/renal impairment), ACE inhibitors (increased renal/hyperkalemia risk), grapefruit juice (may increase amlodipine effect), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers (affect amlodipine), simvastatin (limit dose with amlodipine)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
