Tablet
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with single therapy; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack related to uncontrolled BP.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II effects, lowering blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that widens arteries by reducing calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. Together they provide additive blood-pressure lowering.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Dizziness, headache, ankle/foot swelling (edema), flushing, fatigue, palpitations, nausea, low blood pressure, increased potassium
Not recommended in pregnancy (can harm the unborn baby); stop and consult doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt, heart failure, aortic stenosis, or history of angioedema. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected.
Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride), ACE inhibitors/aliskiren (increased risk of kidney problems/hyperkalemia; avoid in diabetes with aliskiren), NSAIDs (reduced effect and kidney risk), lithium (toxicity), other antihypertensives/diuretics (additive hypotension), grapefruit juice (may increase amlodipine levels), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, azole antifungals)
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
