Relief of productive (wet) cough associated with thick mucus in conditions such as acute bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections/allergies with chest congestion.

This is a mucolytic/expectorant cough preparation that helps loosen and thin thick bronchial mucus so it can be coughed out more easily. It may also reduce airway spasm and ease breathing, improving clearance of secretions.

Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a dosing cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by the doctor; it is commonly taken 2–3 times daily, preferably after food. Maintain adequate fluid intake to help mucus clearance.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, throat irritation, rash

Use with caution in asthma, severe liver or kidney disease, peptic ulcer disease, and in patients with a history of seizures. May cause dizziness/drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Do not use to suppress cough completely in a productive cough unless advised by a doctor. Seek medical help if symptoms persist >3–5 days, high fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, or blood in sputum occurs. Not recommended in children without medical advice.

May increase risk of side effects with other CNS depressants (sedatives, alcohol). Concomitant use with antitussives (cough suppressants) may hinder mucus clearance. Interactions may occur with certain antibiotics and bronchodilators depending on exact ingredients; consult doctor/pharmacist with current medicines.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
