Relief of sore throat and throat infections; symptomatic treatment of pharyngitis/tonsillitis; oral/throat antisepsis to reduce germs causing throat irritation and bad breath.

Povidone-iodine releases free iodine which rapidly kills a wide range of bacteria, viruses and fungi. It reduces microbial load in the throat, helping relieve soreness and inflammation associated with infection.

For gargling: Use as directed on the label/doctor. Typically gargle (and spit out) an undiluted measured quantity or dilute with warm water if advised. Gargle for 30–60 seconds and repeat 2–4 times daily. Do not swallow; avoid eating/drinking for ~30 minutes after use for best effect.

Do not swallow. Avoid use if allergic to iodine/povidone-iodine. Use with caution in thyroid disorders, patients on lithium, and in those with kidney disease. Prolonged or extensive use may affect thyroid function. Not recommended for infants/young children unless prescribed. Stop and seek medical help if severe irritation, breathing difficulty, or swelling occurs.

Lithium (increased risk of hypothyroidism), other antiseptic mouth/throat preparations (additive irritation), products containing mercury (avoid concomitant use), thyroid function tests may be affected by iodine exposure

Store below 25°C in a tightly closed container. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
