This calculator is pre-set to the 100 mg/5 ml strength (20 mg of paracetamol per ml) — a common lower-strength paediatric paracetamol syrup. Enter your child's weight to get the dose in millilitres, with safe spacing and a 24-hour limit.
Check your bottle: 100 mg / 5 ml
This page assumes a 100 mg/5 ml (20 mg/ml) syrup. Paediatric drops are often more concentrated — read the label and change the strength if needed.

Paediatric paracetamol is dosed at about 10–15 mg per kg of body weight per dose, every 4–6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 4 doses (and ≤ 60 mg/kg) in 24 hours. The calculator converts that mg dose into millilitres for the syrup strength you select.
Weight gives a far more accurate paediatric dose than age. Always dose by the child's current weight where possible; age is only a rough fallback.
No more often than every 4 hours, and no more than 4 doses in 24 hours. The calculator shows an hour-by-hour timeline and enforces the 24-hour cap.

At 15 mg/kg an 8 kg child needs about 120 mg per dose. 100 mg/5 ml syrup is 20 mg/ml, so that is roughly 6 ml. Babies under 3 months should always be seen by a clinician; confirm the strength on your bottle.
