How is a child's paracetamol dose calculated by weight?
Paediatric paracetamol is dosed at about 10–15 mg per kg of body weight per dose, every 4–6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 4 doses (and ≤ 60 mg/kg) in 24 hours. The calculator converts that mg dose into millilitres for the syrup strength you select.
Is dose based on age or weight?
Weight gives a far more accurate paediatric dose than age. Always dose by the child's current weight where possible; age is only a rough fallback.
How often can paracetamol be given to a child?
No more often than every 4 hours, and no more than 4 doses in 24 hours. The calculator shows an hour-by-hour timeline and enforces the 24-hour cap.

No. Dolo 650 is a 650 mg adult tablet. For children use the paediatric Dolo suspension (commonly 250 mg/5 ml) dosed by weight, and confirm with your paediatrician.
How much Dolo 250 mg/5 ml for a 10 kg child?
At 15 mg/kg a 10 kg child needs about 150 mg per dose. Dolo 250 mg/5 ml is 50 mg/ml, so that is roughly 3 ml. Confirm the strength on your bottle.
