Uses of Betaloc 50 Tablet

Hypertension (high blood pressure), Angina pectoris (chest pain), Heart failure (stable chronic), Control of heart rate in tachyarrhythmias/palpitations, Secondary prevention after myocardial infarction (as advised by doctor)

How it works

Metoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 blocker that reduces the effects of adrenaline on the heart. It slows heart rate and decreases force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and reducing myocardial oxygen demand.

Directions for use

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for extended-release tablets. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food, but take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
