Hypercholesterolaemia (high LDL/total cholesterol), mixed dyslipidaemia, familial hypercholesterolaemia, prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in at-risk patients as advised by doctor

Rosuvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). It reduces cholesterol production in the liver and increases LDL receptor activity, lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while modestly increasing HDL cholesterol. This helps reduce progression of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk.

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; continue diet and exercise advice. Do not stop without medical advice.

Headache, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness, muscle pain (myalgia), weakness, increased liver enzymes

Do not use in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes. Report muscle pain, tenderness or weakness promptly (risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis), especially with fever or dark urine. Use caution in kidney impairment, hypothyroidism, older age, heavy alcohol use, and history of muscle disorders. Periodic lipid profile and liver function monitoring may be required. Stop and seek medical advice if allergic reaction occurs.

Cyclosporine, gemfibrozil and other fibrates, niacin, protease inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir combinations), hepatitis C antivirals (e.g., sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir), warfarin/other anticoagulants (may alter INR), colchicine, antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (reduce absorption; separate dosing)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
