Important Warnings

Do not use in hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D, or severe hypercalciuria. Use with caution in kidney disease, kidney stones, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous disorders, and in patients taking calcium supplements. Avoid exceeding prescribed dose; monitor calcium and vitamin D levels with prolonged use. Seek medical help for symptoms of high calcium (persistent nausea, vomiting, confusion, excessive thirst/urination).

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcaemia)
digoxin and other cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with high calcium)
antiepileptics like phenytoin/phenobarbital (reduced vitamin D effect)
glucocorticoids (reduced vitamin D effect)
cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption)
aluminium-containing antacids in renal impairment (risk of aluminium toxicity)
calcium supplements (additive hypercalcaemia)
