Tioform Respicaps

Tioform Respicaps contains Tiotropium bromide inhalation powder (as Respicaps) 18 mcg per capsule and is used for maintenance. Prescription required.

Maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema; helps prevent bronchospasm and reduce COPD symptoms

Tiotropium is a long-acting anticholinergic (LAMA) bronchodilator. It blocks muscarinic receptors in airway smooth muscle, leading to sustained bronchodilation and easier breathing.

For inhalation use only with a compatible capsule-based inhaler device. Do not swallow the capsule. Typically inhale the contents of 1 capsule once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed. Rinse mouth after use if advised.

Not for relief of acute bronchospasm/attack—use a rescue inhaler for sudden symptoms. Avoid getting powder in eyes (may worsen narrow-angle glaucoma). Use with caution in urinary retention/prostatic hyperplasia and renal impairment. Stop and seek care if paradoxical bronchospasm, severe allergic reaction, or worsening breathing occurs. Keep regular follow-up; do not exceed prescribed dose.

Other anticholinergic medicines (e.g., ipratropium, glycopyrronium) may increase side effects; caution with drugs that can worsen urinary retention; no major CYP interactions expected

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep capsules in the blister until use.
