Antiseptic gargle/mouthwash for sore throat, pharyngitis/tonsillitis symptoms, oral infections, and reduction of oral/throat microbial load; helps in oral hygiene and minor mouth ulcers (as advised).

Povidone-iodine releases free iodine which rapidly kills bacteria, viruses and fungi by disrupting proteins and cell membranes. This reduces infection-causing germs in the mouth and throat and helps relieve symptoms.

For gargling: Dilute as directed on label/doctor advice (commonly 1:1 with warm water) and gargle for 30–60 seconds, then spit out. Do not swallow. Use 2–4 times daily or as prescribed. For mouthwash use, swish and gargle then spit; avoid eating/drinking for ~30 minutes after use if advised.

Mild burning/irritation in mouth or throat, unpleasant taste, dryness, nausea if accidentally swallowed, mouth staining (temporary), allergic reactions (rash, swelling)

For external/oral use only; do not swallow. Avoid if allergic to iodine/povidone-iodine. Use with caution in thyroid disorders, patients on lithium, and if using for prolonged periods or over large mucosal areas. Not recommended for routine long-term use without medical advice. Stop and seek medical help if severe irritation, swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of allergy occur. Keep out of reach of children.

Lithium (increased risk of thyroid dysfunction), other topical antiseptics/oxidizing agents, hydrogen peroxide, silver-containing products, mercurial antiseptics (may reduce efficacy/irritation).

Store at room temperature (below 25–30°C), tightly closed. Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
