Amlodipine 10 mg + Atenolol 50 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); may also be used for angina (chest pain) when prescribed, especially in patients needing combination therapy.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow. Atenolol is a beta-blocker that slows heart rate and reduces the force of contraction, decreasing cardiac workload and blood pressure. Together they provide better BP control than either alone in some patients.
Take orally as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects of SIDACOR 10/50MG TAB may include:
Use with caution in patients with asthma/COPD (beta-blocker may worsen bronchospasm), diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), heart block, severe bradycardia, heart failure, liver disease (amlodipine), and kidney impairment (atenolol dose adjustment may be needed). Do not stop atenolol abruptly due to risk of rebound hypertension/angina. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly; seek care for fainting, severe dizziness, wheeze, or worsening breathlessness.
