What is the Pus Culture Test?

A pus culture test grows bacteria from pus taken from a wound, boil or abscess to find the germ causing the infection. The sensitivity part shows which antibiotics work against it. Pus drawn with a syringe from deep in the wound gives a more reliable result than a surface swab.

No growth
No bacteria grew. Antibiotics taken before sampling, or some germs that are hard to grow, can give no growth even in an infection.
