Tele-MER and pre-policy medicals for insurers and TPAs
PingMeDoc™ doctors examine your proposers on a video call, after the proposer has agreed on their own phone. For each case you get one PDF: the doctor's Medical Examination Report, the lab reports your package asks for, and a SHA-256 for every part so you can tell the file has not changed.
The proposer says yes by SMS link before we book anything.
One PDF per case
Cover, MER and lab reports, each with its own SHA-256.
Your due time
You set the report-due hours. Every case carries its own.

Tele-MER, video MER and visits: what each one means here
Insurers use these words differently, so this is exactly what you get from us. Our tele-MER is always a video call with a doctor. Tests are never done on a call; when a package has them, our lab takes the samples.

Tell us your volume and the visits you need
We start with an insurer or TPA after a signed agreement, so the first step is a conversation. Tell us roughly how many medicals a month and where. We reply with rates per package and visit type.
What the doctor asks and sees on the call
The doctor works through one structured form while the proposer is on camera. The form will not let them sign until the proposer's identity is confirmed.
Identity
The proposer holds a photo ID up to the camera. The doctor records its type (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving licence, Voter ID, Other photo ID) and its last 4 characters. We never store a full ID number.
Measurements
Height and weight, from which the form works out the BMI, and up to three blood pressure readings with pulse.
On video the doctor cannot put a cuff on the arm, so the proposer measures on their own scale and BP monitor while the doctor watches. If your rules need readings taken in person, tell us and we will price a visit.
Health declarations
The proposer answers yes or no to each of these, and the doctor writes down the details of every yes:
Diabetes
High blood pressure
Heart disease
Cancer or tumour
Past surgery
Hospital admission in the last 5 years
Asthma or other lung disease
Kidney or liver disease
Regular medicines
Tobacco use
Alcohol use
Family history of heart disease, diabetes or cancer
Remarks and signature
The doctor adds remarks and attests the report. Their name and registration number are copied from our verified doctor record at that moment. Nobody types them, and only the doctor who held the call can sign that case.

Consent and the proposer's data, in plain words
Nothing is booked for a proposer until they say yes on their own phone. Here is what they see, who sees their report, and how long we keep it.
What the proposer sees
An SMS with a single-use link, valid for 7 days. The page names your company and the visit type, then shows these four statements, word for word:
[Your company] has asked PingMeDoc to carry out a pre-policy medical examination for your insurance application. This may include blood and urine tests, an ECG, a doctor's examination (height, weight, blood pressure) and questions about your health history.
I agree to be examined and to have my samples collected and tested for this purpose.
I agree that PingMeDoc may send the resulting medical report, including the doctor's examination report, to [Your company] and to nobody else, for the assessment of my insurance application.
I understand that PingMeDoc keeps this record for the period required for insurance underwriting records, and that I can ask PingMeDoc to correct it or to tell me what it holds.
They tick that they have read it and choose I agree or I do not agree. A no cancels the case, and nothing is sent to you. We record the time, the channel, the version of the wording and a keyed hash of the IP address, never the address itself.
Who sees what
You
The case status and, once submitted, the report pack. Only through your own key or the channel agreed at set-up. Another client's key gets a not-found answer for your cases.
The proposer
The consent page and a call from our team to fix a time. Our lab does not send them the report.
Our medicals desk
The case, to send the consent link, schedule the visit and submit the pack.
The examining doctor
The cases they hold. Only that doctor can sign the MER.
Nobody else
The case tables are closed to every app login. Only our server reads them, and it writes no name, phone or address into the case history.
How long we keep it
For the period your contract states, 8 years from submission by default. Then we delete the stored pack and remove the proposer's name, phone, address, MER answers and consent record. The case number, price and invoice line stay, for accounts.
How cases reach us and how results go back
Two ways in, one way out. Both start once the agreement is signed and your account is set up.
1. Agree the terms
Packages, a rate for each package and visit type, the report-due hours, GST rate, billing email and payment terms. A case with no agreed rate is refused, so a price never drifts.
2. Send cases
By API, one case or up to 50 in a call. Each case carries your own reference; sending the same reference twice returns the first case and creates nothing new.
Or as a CSV file of up to 500 rows that our team imports. We read the column names insurers already use, such as proposal_no, mobile, gender and pin.
Each case needs your reference, the proposer's name, mobile, age and sex, the package and the visit type. A home visit also needs the address and 6-digit pincode. A preferred time is optional.
3. We work the case
Consent link, scheduling, the doctor's call, the tests and the pack. The case moves through these statuses: Awaiting consent, Ready to schedule, Scheduled, Sample collected, Tele MER done, Reports ready, Submitted, Invoiced, Cancelled, No show.
4. Collect the result
Ask for the case by your reference. Once it is submitted the reply carries a link to the pack that works for 10 minutes, and the pack's SHA-256. We do not push results to a webhook yet, so your system checks the status.
5. Pay one invoice a month
On the 1st we draft an invoice for the cases submitted the month before, each at the rate fixed when it arrived, plus GST. It comes as a PDF with a payment link.
There is no public price list. We quote a rate per package and visit type, on your monthly volume, and put it in the agreement.
Starting packages
Basic: fasting blood sugar, lipid profile, serum creatinine, urine routine and CBC, with the doctor's MER (blood pressure, height, weight). Basic with ECG: the same plus a resting ECG. Other packages are set up from tests in our lab catalogue.
Rate card
One rate for each package and visit type. A tele-MER on its own, a home visit and a centre visit can each have their own rate.
Fixed at arrival
Each case keeps the rate that applied when it reached us, even if the card changes later.
Billing
One invoice a month for submitted cases, plus GST, with a payment link. Cancelled cases are not billed.
What we do not do
So you can plan around it before you sign.
Phone-only tele-MER interviews. Every tele-MER is on video.
Record the video call. The doctor's MER is the record.
Take blood or run an ECG on a call. Tests need a home collection or a centre visit, and home collection depends on the pincode.
Decide on cover. The doctor reports findings and declarations. Underwriting is yours.
Send the proposer their report, or send it to anyone but you.
Join the case to any other record the proposer has with us.
Store a full ID number. Only the document type and its last 4 characters.
Sign the pack with a digital signature certificate, yet. It is tamper-evident through SHA-256.
Push results to a webhook, yet. Your system asks for the status.
Fill your own MER layout out of the box. Our MER is a standard form; send yours and we will say what matching it takes.
Questions insurers and TPAs ask
What is a tele-MER?
A Medical Examination Report taken remotely instead of at a clinic. A medical professional asks the proposer the insurer's health questions and records the answers for underwriting. At PingMeDoc every tele-MER is a video call with a doctor, who also checks the proposer's photo ID on camera.
What is the difference between a tele-MER and a video MER?
In the market, a tele-MER is often a phone call: someone reads the questions and the proposer answers by voice. A video MER is the same interview on camera, so the examiner can see the person and their ID. Our tele-MER is the video kind. We do not run phone-only interviews.
Which cases suit a tele-MER, and which need a visit?
Your underwriting rules decide. A tele-MER covers the doctor's questions, the identity check, height, weight and blood pressure readings, and the declared history. If the package also has blood or urine tests or an ECG, the case needs a home sample collection or a centre visit for those tests as well.
How does the proposer give consent?
We send an SMS with a single-use link to the mobile number you give us. The page names your company, says what the examination includes and who will receive the report, and asks the proposer to tick and choose I agree or I do not agree. Nothing is booked until they agree.
What if the proposer says no, or does not reply?
If they decline, the case is cancelled and nothing is sent to you except the cancelled status. The link stays valid for 7 days, and our team can send it again up to 6 times, at least 2 minutes apart. You see the case as Awaiting consent until they answer.
What if the proposer misses the appointment?
The case is marked No show. It can be booked again without a new consent, because the consent is already on file.
Who sees the report?
Only the insurer or TPA that sent the case, through its own API key or the channel agreed at set-up. Another client's key cannot see your cases. Our lab does not send the report to the proposer. Inside PingMeDoc, the medicals desk and the examining doctor work on the case.
How long do you keep the proposer's data?
For the period your contract states, 8 years from submission by default. After that we delete the stored report pack and remove the proposer's name, phone, address, MER answers and consent record. The case number, price and invoice line stay for accounts.
How do we send cases?
Through our API, one case or up to 50 in a call, or as a CSV file of up to 500 rows that our team imports. Each case carries your own reference. Sending the same reference twice returns the first case and creates nothing new.
How do results come back?
Your system asks for a case by your reference and gets its status. Once the case is submitted, the reply includes a link to the report pack PDF that works for 10 minutes, and the pack's SHA-256. We do not push results to a webhook yet.
How fast is the report?
You set the report-due time, in hours, in the agreement. Each case carries its own due time from the moment it reaches us, and our desk is alerted when a case is close to it. We do not publish one turnaround for every insurer because it depends on the package and the visit type.
How are rates set?
Per package and per visit type, quoted on your monthly volume. A case keeps the rate that applied when it arrived. We invoice monthly for submitted cases, plus GST, with a payment link. The proposer pays nothing.
Can you use our own MER format?
Our MER is a standard questionnaire: identity, height, weight, BMI, up to three blood pressure readings, twelve health declarations, remarks and the doctor's attestation. If you need your own layout, send it with your enquiry and we will tell you what it takes to match it.
Is the report digitally signed?
The pack is tamper-evident. We store the SHA-256 of the whole pack at submission and print the SHA-256 of each part on its cover, so any change to the file shows. It does not yet carry a digital signature certificate.
