Almotriptan malate 12.5 mg (equivalent to Almotriptan 12.5 mg) tablet

Uses of Almotan 12.5MG Tab

Acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults (not for migraine prevention).

• •Relieves acute migraine headache
• •Reduces nausea/photophobia/phonophobia associated with migraine
• •Works best when taken early in the attack
• •Helps restore normal daily activity during an episode

How it works

Almotriptan is a selective serotonin (5‑HT1B/5‑HT1D) receptor agonist. It constricts dilated cranial blood vessels and inhibits release of inflammatory neuropeptides, reducing migraine pain and associated symptoms.

Directions for use

Oral tablet. Take 1 tablet at the first sign of a migraine headache (or as advised). If the migraine returns, a second dose may be taken after at least 2 hours; do not exceed 2 tablets (25 mg) in 24 hours. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water.
