Monograph
Alkapac Syrup contains Cranberry Extract (200mg) + Potassium Magnesium Citrate (978mg) + D-Mannose (300mg) and is used for this medicine is used.
This medicine is used in the treatment of nutritional deficiency, support during recovery, antioxidant supplementation, dietary supplementation, burning during urination, urinary tract discomfort and prevention of urinary stones.
This medicine combines 3 active ingredients: Cranberry Extract, Potassium Magnesium Citrate and D-mannose. Cranberry Extract supplies a nutrient that helps protect body cells from everyday oxidative wear and supports normal immune function. Potassium Magnesium Citrate supplies a vitamin, mineral or nutrient that your diet may not be providing in sufficient amount. D-mannose makes the urine less acidic, which eases burning and discomfort while passing urine.
Shake the bottle well before each dose and measure it with the cup, spoon or dropper supplied — a kitchen spoon is not an accurate measure. Take it with or after food. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Nausea, Stomach upset, Metallic taste, Loose motions, Constipation
A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up. A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. This eases the symptoms; it does not treat a urinary infection. See a doctor if you have fever, back or flank pain, blood in the urine, or symptoms lasting more than a couple of days — an infection needs an antibiotic. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, heart failure or are on a salt-restricted diet; these preparations carry a sodium or potassium load.
Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect. Iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium reduce the absorption of thyroid tablets and several antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tea and coffee taken with iron reduce how much is absorbed; vitamin C increases it. Changing the acidity of urine affects how some medicines are cleared — tell your doctor what you take.
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Once opened, use it within the period printed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.
