Cardirose 5 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin (5mg). It belongs to the Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine) class of medicines.

How Cardirose 5 Tablet works

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels by inhibiting calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. This lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart, improving blood flow and helping prevent angina.

How to take Cardirose 5 Tablet

Tablet for oral use. Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Cardirose 5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within 12 hours.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause immediate harm but may increase the risk of muscle and liver injury. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Cardirose are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in liver disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Can cause low blood pressure, dizziness or swelling—use caution while driving if affected. Inform doctor if you have heart failure, severe aortic stenosis, or recent heart attack. Do not stop medicine abruptly; regular BP monitoring is advised.

Do not take Cardirose if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Not for people with active liver disease.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), simvastatin (limit simvastatin dose when used with amlodipine), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., clarithromycin, ketoconazole, ritonavir) may increase levels, CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine) may reduce effect, grapefruit juice may increase levels, tacrolimus/cyclosporine (may increase levels—monitor)

Cardirose 5mg Tablet is generally safe and well-tolerated; however, it may cause diarrhea, gas, or an upset stomach in some people. If any of these happen to you, take it with food. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems, such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine, or yellowing of skin or eyes. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes before starting treatment with this medicine. If you are diabetic, monitor your blood sugar level regularly, as Cardirose 5mg Tablet may cause an increase in your blood sugar level. Do not take Cardirose 5mg Tablet if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
