Beclometasone dipropionate 400 mcg (inhalation powder) per rotacap
Maintenance treatment and prevention of symptoms in bronchial asthma; maintenance therapy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) where inhaled corticosteroid is indicated
Beclometasone is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation, swelling and mucus production. Regular use decreases bronchial hyper-responsiveness and helps prevent wheezing and breathlessness.
For inhalation use only with a compatible Rotahaler/rotacap inhaler device. Use exactly as prescribed, usually as a regular daily controller and not for immediate relief. Load one rotacap into the device, pierce as per device instructions, inhale deeply and hold breath for a few seconds; discard empty shell. Rinse mouth/gargle after use to reduce risk of oral thrush.
Common side effects of SEROBID ROTACAPS 30S may include:
Not for acute asthma attack/bronchospasm—keep a reliever inhaler (e.g., salbutamol) for sudden symptoms. Do not stop abruptly; use regularly for best control. Rinse mouth after each dose to prevent fungal infection. Use with caution in untreated infections (including TB), glaucoma/cataract, osteoporosis, diabetes, liver impairment, and in children (monitor growth). Seek medical help if breathing worsens after use (paradoxical bronchospasm). Long-term/high-dose use may rarely cause adrenal suppression or systemic steroid effects.
