Valkem OD 750 mg Tablet contains Divalproex (750mg). It belongs to the Anticonvulsant (SV2A ligand) class of medicines.

How Valkem OD 750 mg Tablet works

Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic medicine that binds to synaptic vesicle protein SV2A in the brain. This helps stabilize neuronal activity and reduces abnormal electrical firing that can trigger seizures.

How to take Valkem OD 750 mg Tablet

Oral tablet (OD/extended-release). Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time; swallow whole with water—do not crush, chew or split. Can be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Valkem OD 750mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can cause deep unconsciousness, slowed breathing and dangerous heart rhythm disturbance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Several are not suitable in significant liver disease.

Interactions with other medicines

Other CNS depressants (alcohol, sedatives, opioids) may increase drowsiness; additive effects with other antiepileptics. Probenecid may reduce clearance of levetiracetam metabolite. Methotrexate levels/toxicity may increase when used with levetiracetam (monitor).

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), in a dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
