Epalridase

Epalridase contains Epalrestat (50mg) and is used for diabetic nerve pain. Prescription required.

Diabetic nerve pain

Epalridase 50mg Tablet is an aldose reductase inhibitor. It blocks the accumulation of sorbitol in cells, which has been related to causing diabetic nerve disease.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Epalridase 50mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

If you feel shaky, sweaty, confused or unusually hungry, take sugar, glucose or a sweet drink at once and tell your doctor — these are signs your blood sugar has fallen too low. If a low-sugar episode happens while on an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor such as voglibose or acarbose, use glucose — ordinary sugar and sweets work more slowly. Tell your doctor about any new swelling of the ankles, breathlessness or sudden weight gain.

Low blood sugar is more likely when combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea.

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
