Composition

Sitagliptin 100 mg + Metformin hydrochloride 1000 mg (sustained release/extended release – check pack label)

Uses of Zita-Dm 1000MG Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: used to improve blood glucose control along with diet and exercise when dual therapy with metformin and a DPP-4 inhibitor is appropriate.

• •Low risk of hypoglycaemia when used without insulin/sulfonylurea

How it works

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones, leading to increased insulin release and reduced glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity, reducing blood glucose levels.

Directions for use

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed by doctor, usually once daily with the evening meal (for SR/ER) or with meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole; do not crush/chew if sustained/extended release. Monitor blood sugar regularly.
