Azithromycin 200 mg/5 mL oral suspension (after reconstitution)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as upper and lower respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), otitis media, and skin/soft tissue infections.
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This stops growth of susceptible bacteria and helps clear the infection.
Oral suspension. Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark, shake well before each dose. Measure with a dosing syringe/cup and take once daily as prescribed; may be taken with or without food (with food may reduce stomach upset). Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Common side effects of AZITUS 200 SUS 15ML may include:
Use only for bacterial infections (not for viral cold/flu).
