Bactrozap Ointment contains Mupirocin (2% w/w). It belongs to the Topical antibacterial class of medicines.

How Bactrozap Ointment works

This is a topical antibiotic ointment. It kills susceptible bacteria on the skin by inhibiting essential bacterial processes, helping clear infection and prevent its spread.

How to take Bactrozap Ointment

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer of ointment 2–3 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Can be covered with a sterile gauze if advised. Wash hands before and after application; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and inside the nose unless prescribed.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Bactrozap Ointment, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Bactrozap than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Bactrozap Ointment

Most side effects of Bactrozap are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
