How Benoquin Cream works

Benoquin Cream is a depigmenting agent. It works by increasing the elimination of melanin (skin darkening pigment) from skin cells. This helps lighten the skin in vitiligo.

How to take Benoquin Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Benoquin Cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Benoquin than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Benoquin Cream

Most side effects of Benoquin are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Benoquin Cream

Store Benoquin below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Benoquin Cream helps lighten the skin in people with vitiligo. It may take up to 4 months to complete treatment. Keep using the medication as prescribed. Apply it in a thin layer to the pigmented areas of skin and rub in gently. It can make your skin more sensitive to sun. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. It may also cause changes in the color of your untreated skin. Talk to your doctor if this bothers you. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve after 1 month of treatment.
