Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to bacterial cell death.
Shake well before use. Measure dose with a calibrated spoon/syringe and take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food to improve absorption. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Use only for suspected/confirmed bacterial infection. Do not use in patients with known cephalosporin allergy; use caution with penicillin allergy. Dose adjustment may be needed in renal impairment. Prolonged use may cause superinfection; seek care for severe/persistent diarrhea (risk of C. difficile).
