How to take Escigress 10 mg Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice; dose may need gradual tapering.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of ESCIgress 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause fits, dangerous heart rhythm disturbance and coma, and is particularly dangerous with the older tricyclic medicines. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

May increase risk of suicidal thoughts/behavior especially in children, adolescents and young adults—monitor closely. Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping an MAOI; risk of serotonin syndrome (agitation, fever, tremor, diarrhea). Use caution in bipolar disorder (may trigger mania), epilepsy/seizures, liver impairment, kidney impairment, bleeding disorders, and in elderly (risk of hyponatremia). Can cause QT prolongation in susceptible patients or at higher doses—caution in heart disease, low potassium/magnesium. May impair alertness; avoid driving if drowsy.

Do not take Escigress if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be combined with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, or started within the gap your doctor specifies after one.

Interactions with other medicines

MAO inhibitors (linezolid, selegiline, moclobemide), other serotonergic drugs (triptans, tramadol, fentanyl, lithium, tryptophan, St John’s wort), anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs (warfarin, aspirin, ibuprofen) increased bleeding risk, other QT-prolonging drugs (amiodarone, sotalol, certain antipsychotics/macrolides), CYP2C19 inhibitors (omeprazole, esomeprazole) may increase levels

Take ESCIgress 10 Tablet in the morning since it can keep you awake if taken late at night. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts.
