Hexagab Plus Tablet PR is used in the treatment of neuropathic pain.

How Hexagab SR Tablet works

Hexagab Plus Tablet PR is a combination of three medicines: Pregabalin, Nortriptyline and Methylcobalamin/Mecobalamin. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Methylcobalamin/Mecobalamin is a form of vitamin B which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

How to take Hexagab SR Tablet

Use it as advised by your doctor or check the label for directions before use. Hexagab Plus Tablet PR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Hexagab SR as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Hexagab SR than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Hexagab SR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Constipation Weight gain Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing) Increased heart rate Dizziness Sleepiness Tiredness Blurred vision Dryness in mouth Difficulty in urination Uncoordinated body movements
