Keraflam Gel contains DICLOFENAC DIETHYLAMINE-1.16%W/W+LINSEED OIL-3%W/W+MENTHOL-0.5%W/W+METHYL SALICYLATE-10%W/W. It belongs to the Counter-irritant / topical anti-inflammatory class of medicines.

How Keraflam Gel works

This medicine combines 4 active ingredients: Diclofenac Diethylamine, Linseed Oil, Menthol and Methyl Salicylate. Diclofenac Diethylamine is applied to the skin over a painful area, where it produces a warming or cooling sensation and reduces local pain and inflammation. Linseed Oil is applied to the skin over a painful area, where it produces a warming or cooling sensation and reduces local pain and inflammation. Menthol is applied to the skin over a painful area, where it produces a warming or cooling sensation and reduces local pain and inflammation. Methyl Salicylate is applied to the skin over a painful area, where it produces a warming or cooling sensation and reduces local pain and inflammation.

How to take Keraflam Gel

Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer and rub it in gently. Wash your hands before and after use, unless your hands are the area being treated. This is for use on the skin only — do not swallow it. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Keraflam as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use, but swallowing these preparations can be serious, particularly in children. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Keraflam Gel

Most side effects of Keraflam are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

For external use only. Keep it away from the eyes, mouth and broken skin. Do not apply a heating pad or hot water bottle over the treated area — this can cause a burn. Do not bandage tightly over it unless your doctor has told you to. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying, unless your hands are the area being treated. Stop if the skin becomes severely irritated or blisters.

Do not take Keraflam if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on broken, infected or badly inflamed skin.

Interactions with other medicines

Topical anti-inflammatory gels add to the effect of the same medicine taken by mouth; tell your doctor if you use both.

How to store Keraflam Gel

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.
