Septran Adult Tablet contains Trimethoprim (160mg) + Sulphamethoxazole (800mg).

Uses of Septran Adult Tablet

• Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia
• bronchitis
• infections of urinary tract
• ear and intestines.

How Septran Adult Tablet works

Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

How to take Septran Adult Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Septran Adult as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Septran Adult than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
