Temozolomide 100 mg capsule
Treatment of certain brain cancers such as glioblastoma multiforme (newly diagnosed and recurrent) and anaplastic astrocytoma, as prescribed by an oncologist.
Temozolomide is an alkylating agent that converts to an active metabolite (MTIC) in the body. It methylates DNA in tumor cells, leading to DNA damage and inhibition of cancer cell growth and replication.
Take exactly as directed by the oncologist. Swallow the capsule whole with water on an empty stomach (typically 1 hour before or 2 hours after food), preferably at the same time each day; do not open, crush, or chew. Use anti-nausea medicine if prescribed; follow the treatment cycle schedule strictly.
Common side effects of TEMOSIDE 100MG CAP may include:
Cytotoxic chemotherapy—use only under specialist supervision. Can cause severe myelosuppression (low blood counts) leading to infections/bleeding; regular CBC monitoring required. Risk of opportunistic infections (including Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia), especially with concomitant radiotherapy or steroids—prophylaxis may be needed. Avoid pregnancy; may harm the unborn baby. Men should use effective contraception during treatment and for a period after; fertility may be affected. Do not open capsules; avoid contact with powder (wash thoroughly if contact occurs). Seek urgent care for fever, sore throat, unusual bruising/bleeding, breathlessness, or severe rash.
