Trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride 1.5 mg
Treatment of Parkinson’s disease symptoms (tremor, rigidity) and drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms (parkinsonism, dystonia) caused by antipsychotics/other medicines.
Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) that reduces the effect of acetylcholine in the CNS. By restoring the dopamine–acetylcholine balance in basal ganglia, it helps improve tremor, stiffness and abnormal movements.
Take orally as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken in divided doses; may be taken with food to reduce stomach upset. Do not stop suddenly; dose is often started low and increased gradually.
Common side effects of TYPIDOL 1.5MG may include:
Use with caution in glaucoma (may worsen angle-closure), enlarged prostate/urinary retention, bowel obstruction, heart disease, liver/kidney impairment and in elderly (higher risk of confusion/falls). May cause drowsiness/blurred vision—avoid driving until you know the effect. Avoid overheating; reduced sweating can cause heat stroke. Do not discontinue abruptly without medical advice.
