Endoxifen (8mg)
Zonalta 8 mg Tablet is used for prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy (CINV), radiotherapy (RINV), and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Zonalta 8 mg Tablet contains Endoxifen (8mg). It belongs to the 5-HT3 receptor antagonist (serotonin antagonist) class of medicines.
Ondansetron is a selective 5-HT3 (serotonin) receptor antagonist. It blocks serotonin-mediated stimulation of vagal afferents in the gut and the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain, thereby reducing nausea and vomiting.
Take tablet by mouth exactly as prescribed. It may be taken with or without food; taking after food may reduce stomach upset. Typical use is before chemotherapy/radiotherapy or as directed for postoperative nausea; swallow with water.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Zonalta 8mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Zonalta than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Zonalta are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
