Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, acute bronchitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media and uncomplicated typhoid fever (enteric fever) as prescribed by a doctor.

Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.

Oral dispersible tablet: dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and consume immediately, or take as directed by physician. Can be taken with or without food; taking with food may reduce stomach upset. Complete the full prescribed course and do not skip doses.

Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness, skin rash

Use only for bacterial infections; not effective for viral illness. Do not use if allergic to cefixime/cephalosporins; use caution with history of penicillin allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Persistent/severe diarrhoea may indicate antibiotic-associated colitis—seek medical help. Prolonged use may cause superinfection; use in pregnancy/children only on medical advice.

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk/INR), probenecid (may increase cefixime levels), live bacterial vaccines such as oral typhoid vaccine (reduced vaccine effect), other nephrotoxic drugs (increased kidney risk)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
