Aceclo Spas Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Drotaverine (80mg) + Aceclofenac (100mg). It is used for abdominal pain. It belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodic and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Aceclo Spas Tablet are dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation and drowsiness. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Aceclo Spas Tablet works.
Treatment of Abdominal pain
Most side effects of Aceclo Spas are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. aceclo SPAS Tablet should be taken with or after food.
aceclo SPAS Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine and Aceclofenac, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Drotaverine is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves contractions (spasms) associated with smooth muscles in the abdomen. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause abdominal pain and inflammation (swelling).
Severe abdominal pain, particularly with fever or vomiting, needs a doctor rather than a painkiller or antispasmodic. May cause blurred vision and drowsiness — do not drive until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine. Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy.
If you miss a dose of aceclo SPAS Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, confusion, blurred vision and difficulty passing urine. It can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
