Acnestar Gel is a prescription medicine. It is used for acne (pimples), mild to moderate acne vulgaris, comedones (blackheads and whiteheads).
For external use only. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Acnestar Gel are dryness, peeling, redness and burning/stinging. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Acnestar Gel works.

Most side effects of Acnestar are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the acne-affected skin once daily or as advised by a doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, inside nose and broken/irritated skin; wash hands after application.
Acnestar Gel is an anti-acne topical preparation. It helps reduce acne-causing bacteria and inflammation and promotes unclogging of pores to prevent formation of new pimples. The exact mechanism depends on the active ingredient(s) in the gel.
For external use only. Do not apply on cuts, eczema or sunburned skin. May increase sensitivity to sunlight—use sunscreen and limit sun/UV exposure. If severe irritation, swelling, blistering or allergic reaction occurs, stop use and consult a doctor. Use with caution on sensitive skin; avoid combining with harsh soaps, scrubs or alcohol-based cosmetics unless advised.
